Be Mine

Large sheets of paper hang weightlessly from the ceiling in ccap’s working space. The sheets are fully or partly folded and form a material choreography of movement and stillness, activity and rest. The act of folding is a laborious and time-consuming task in which body and paper grapple with each other. With care, Vilhelmson creates crease after crease in the thin paper, simultaneously tearing its smooth surface, breaking its fibers and forcing it into a different shape and structure.

An exhibition and accompanying series of talks on violence in relation to artistic production, taking as its starting point a series of works with the same title by artist Annika Vilhelmson.
