Change management – a choreographic laboratory led by Cristina Caprioli (for PARC Fabbrica Europa Florence).

Young artists operating in the field of dance and choreography are invited to bring along a choreographic solo of theirs. The solo needs not to be finished, yet precisely formulated in its concept and agency. More so, it must already have been inscribed onto a specific body/bodies and/or otherwise media or materiality, in precise relation to a specific context. In other words, the solo must be ready to be exposed/performed. During the laboratory, each solo will be transferred into a new set of (given) circumstances, thus subjected to altered preconditions. Music, performers, material and otherwise modes and matters will have to be reconsidered. Eventually, the original solo will self-transform, altering not only its connotations and manner, but also its agency.

Purpose of the laboratory is to deal with choreography as the outcome of repeated transformations whereby ethics/aesthetics and methodology/technology are continuously re-edited. The laboratory advocates critical unpacking as the core duty of art, whilst providing an insight into Cristina Caprioli’ s notion of movement and choreography.
